My name is Matthias, although you may know me better as Maze.
I am a Munich-based juggler and photographer.

Interested in photography since my early childhood, I took my very first photo, at the age of four in 1997. It was a real wildlife photo – a stuffed animal dog placed on my parents' couch. In the early 2000s, I learned juggling in a circus project at my school. The first convention I visited was »Nürnberg 2009«.
Since then, I visited approximately 100 conventions, including 10 European Juggling Conventions. All along, I had a camera with me. Not that the pictures I made back in 2010 are very enjoyable – at least not visually (but maybe for nostalgia reasons). But I have amassed a significant archive that I want to share with you over time on this website if you are interested!

From 2015 to 2022, I studied photo design at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. For my bachelor's thesis, I created a photo book called »1.5°C« about the impact of the anthropogenic climate emergency in Mongolia. Now, I am working as a freelance photo designer, videographer, and light assistant.
